Ki-Day 2023 🥳

hope you enjoyed leo season! if you know any leos then you know that our birthdays are a big deal and i’m def no exception. this year, i celebrated my birthday (which is july 29 – yes i know you care!) with a week long vacation in Cabo! it was my first time there and i’m not the best researcher so wasn’t totally sure what to expect but it was honestly one of the best trips i’ve ever been on. check out the full recap below and keep reading to get details on where we stayed and my fav places we went!

Dos Hermanas – we stayed at a private villa called Dos Hermanas in the hills of Pedregal – the bougie area in Cabo of course lol. it reminded me of a desert version of Santorini, with huge, gorgeous villas built into the cliffs, seeming to pile on top of each other in the most gorgeous way. Dos Hermanas itself was absolutely stunning. now this is one of the things i actually did look up cuz you know i had to get this content, honey! the villa is super instagrammable with cute decorated nooks, ocean views, an infinity pool and outdoor showers. what i also loved was that each of the 4 bedrooms was beautiful in it’s own way – they all had a balcony area with beautiful views, all deocrated with a unique personality. i highly recommend a villa over hotel if you’re with a group – the privacy was everything! and the great thing about Pedregal is that they do not play when it comes to security. they monitor everyone that comes in and out of the community so we felt super safe and didn’t have to worry about anyone creeping around the villa – besides a couple stray cats who i caught spying on Chai one night lol.

Sur Beach Club – no it has no affiliation with Lisa Vanderpump’s Sur. i had the same question lol but it was a really cute beach club located at playa el medano. first we need to talk about the beach – it was literally perfect! the water was a beautiful ombre going from sea glass green, to aqua, to sapphire blue and the water was warm – a key detail because i hate cold water and usually never go in the ocean in America because of it. being in the water almost felt like a spa treatment, that’s how amazing i felt afterwards. this feeling only increased when they brought our food order. you guys know i love my seafood and the menu there is delicious! we had king crab legs, grilled octopus, grilled shrimp with some amazing sauce i wish i remembered the name of and sushi – all bomb af! i had to go back to Sur a second time for more lol. admittedly it’s pretty low frills in terms of the decor but they get a pass with the how great the food was. plus the view of the water more than made up for it. if you’re able to stay for the sunset view it’s even more beautiful!

Taboo – now taboo brought the luxury aesthetics i was looking for. the club is on the beach but it’s built up on a deck with 2 large pools and swim-up bar so you can decide if you prefer the pool or ocean vibes. we preferred the pool this time around so we could comfortably eat (and drink). the view is absolutely insane with the pool, the ocean in the background and a enormous ship anchored in the center. not sure if that ship is there all the time but it was everything lol. when the sun started to go down it turned that cotton candy color you usually see on skyscrapers in the city. i recommend going around 1pm. we got there around 4:30 and it was already starting to empty out but was still a good time.

some restaurants i fucked with – one of the reasons why cabo was so lit was because the food everywhere was so good. y’all know i’m a foodie so i was happy that i thoroughly enjoyed every meal i had there. below is a list of some of the restaurants i went to and a quick run down of each.

  • Arbol at Las Ventanas – probably the best meal I had out there. the venue is also super dreamy with pretty trees with lights in them and booths where you can sit and eat in the middle of a pond. it’s super whimsical but also pricey so be ready for that lol.
  • Comal – located on a resort its kind of in the middle of nowhere lol but the food was really good and they have great live performers. they offered a tequila tasting which we didn’t do but might be cool if you’re into that. i hear the sunset view is amazing but it was dark by the time we went. still super beautiful and a great vibe.
  • La Lupita – more of a chill spot that’s known for their tacos. they have a bone marrow taco that was soooo good i wish i just ordered 3 of those lol. the shrimp and asian style taco was bomb too.
  • Chamuyo – i didn’t think it was possible but at one point i actually was over seafood and was craving some churrasco so we went to chamuyo. we got a bunch of diff cuts including rib eye, ribs, and chorizo. their chimichurri sauce was bomb too i had to order extra to go lol. we had tons of leftovers and it was good for days.

so are you booking your flight to cabo? make sure you check out these spots if you do!
