have you ever had a major event coming up so you buy a fly outfit, some sexy heels, got your hair and makeup styles planned out and then BOOM you get a pimple the day before? if you’re like most people, you probably run to the store to find something that promises to zap your pimple quick, only to end up with an even bigger, angry red bump. stop wasting money buying overpriced products and use things that you already have at home – the boughetto fab way!
1. Tea Tree Oil. this is my number one go-to when i have a pimple. tea tree oil unclogs pores, clears out dead skin cells, and is able to dry out pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. it also disinfects the pores. all you need is 1-2 drops applied directly to the bump with a cotton ball. you can dilute with water if it’s too strong but trust me, the slight burn is worth it for the best results. using this essential oil, i’ve been able to shrink a pimple to half it’s size overnight!
2. Baking Soda/Toothpaste. baking soda is a great natural solution to getting rid of pimples. it exfoliates the skin, reduces inflammation and dries out bumps. just mix baking soda with water to create a paste and put it directly on the pimple. if you’re like me and don’t have any type of baking tools in your kitchen, toothpaste works just as well! for either option, rinse your face after an hour.
3. Honey and Cinnamon. raw honey is a natural antibacterial agent. it helps to kill and stunt the growth of the bacteria that causes pimples and also has a hydrating effect that won’t dry out your skin. cinnamon also helps kill bacteria and has astringent properties which helps to shrink pores. you can mix a small amount of both together to create a paste to put on top of the pimple for a spot treatment. or if you suffer from acne and want to try a full face mask, mix 3 tablespoons of raw honey with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. in both cases rinse the mixture off after about 15 minutes.
BONUS: Lemon Juice or Apple Cider Vinegar. lemon juice and apple cider vinegar work essentially the same when it comes to getting rid of pimples. They both have antibacterial properties and help tighten pores. just apply directly the skin and wash your face after an hour.
have you tried any of these methods? how did they work for you? leave a comment below!
